Review: Kuldaboli – Ég elska þig eilífa stríð

Having released previously on Sweaty Records, the Icelandic producer Kuldaboli is back with another aural delight - his first record on Bjarkis label bbbbbb dropped late last year and has been on repeat ever since. This five track EP showcases killer electro, with dreamy soundscapes, playful but hard-hitting beats and futuristic alien vocals. A1 is the winning track for me here, with a dopplereffekt-esque sound to it and distorted dystopian vocals. In particular, the hypnotic aggressive stripped-back drum patterns give this track its stand-out sound. A2 remains beautifully atmospheric even with the hard beats, the dreamy pads and melodic synth notes…. This is definitely something special and I can’t wait to hear more from Kuldaboli.
